One Quarter

Well, I'm pregnant. It's twins.

Joking. It's April Fool's Day.
I have never understood how this day came to be. "Let's all tell lies and prank people, cause it's the first of April"?? "No, let's make it a notional wannabe holiday!"
Yeah, I don't know how that conversation might have gone.

Anyways, I'm one quarter of the way through a cycle. One week from now will be the day the ball drops. Did I say ball? I meant egg.

Okay, so some people don't get how a cycle works. My husband does, because I have drilled it into his head many many times. But most guys, and even some women, still don't get it at all.
Here's a basic rundown.

The average "cycle" (man term: period-to-period) is 4 weeks, or 28 days. The average "ovulation" (man term: times to get pregnant) or release of an egg occurs at the halfway point. So two weeks after your period, or two weeks before your period is due to start. You can usually get a positive on a pregnancy test a few days before your missed period IF you use a good pregnancy test, so basically, around 9 days after ovulation (man term: you can pee on a stick 9 days after you have sex).
Here's the clincher - not every woman has a 28 day cycle, not every woman ovulates halfway through, and so if you are trying to get pregnant, you should be having sex a few days before and a few days after the time you think you are ovulating.

So a week from now, I could be getting pregnant. And two weeks from that (maybe a little longer, according to my cycle) I could be reading a positive pregnancy test.

This is all boiling down to one thing - finding out if the Lord wants to drop a blessing on us now, or if he wants us to wait for it.
